Work Environment
ERGONOMICS AT THE WORKPLACE
Ergonomically designed workstations are an effective way to counteract fatigue and overstrain. The introduction of simple measures can often minimize the risk of accidents and work-related illnesses. The "Risk Management Office" of the University of Bern is at your disposal, including to support you with requests for ergonomic workstations.
HEALTH PROTECTION, OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY
The health and safety of our employees is our utmost priority. We implement measures to protect them from occupational accidents, work-related illnesses and health impairments.
OCCUPATIONAL MEDICINE
Occupational medicine is tasked with preventing occupational health issues of employees at the University of Bern. The focus is on employees who work at institutes with particular workplace hazards, such as infectious agents or chemical substances. Occupational medicine is responsible for organizing and implementing occupational health checks, including physical examinations, providing advice and defining appropriate measures. A further important area is risk assessment, advice and recommendations for appropriate measures for maternity protection.
